Westmeath schools enjoy tag rugby
Following coaching during the summer school term, Co. Westmeath Youth Development Officer, David Farrelly, ran a tag rugby fun day for children from Streamstown, Horseleap, Ballinagore and Boher.Held in Streamstown, over 100 children (both boys and girls) took part in the tag rugby matches.The new Leinster Rugby Roadshow was also on site for children to practice their skills during the day. Every child went home with some small Leinster Rugby prizes having thoroughly enjoyed themselves.Thanks are due to David Farrelly for organising the event and to Midlands RDO - Derek Maybury and Co. Offaly YDO - Pieter Swanepoel who helped referee the matches and hand out the prizes.The next rugby event for children in Westmeath is the Leinster Rugby Summer Camp in Mullingar RFC from July 13 to 17.
