Clonuff Angel does the Business on Thursday March 4th

Thursday nights card at Mullingar Greyhound Stadium featured the daring kennels and Mullingar GOBA A6 525 final as expected Kildallon Bound topped the showing at 4/5, Home Haley was second favourite at 7/4 with the remainder of the field available at 2/1 and better.Clonuff Angel which remained friendless in the ring at 5/1 made a fast exit from traps and although strongly challenged at the turn for home by Home Haley she maintained her well earned front running advantage to win by a half a length in 30.18.Anthony Huckfields (Mullingar) Patricia's Boy was the even money favourite to do the business in the first race and although well adrift at the half way mark she produced an amazing late challenge to win by two and a quarter lengths from long time leader Keen Princess in 30.58.Forest Elle which is owned by Paul Kearney (Offaly) although making her first public appearance came from well off the pace to win the third by ten and a half lengths from Tamna Blaise in 30.03.Local owner John Byrne (Mullingar) sent out his Hanstown Judy to win the third over the 400 yds trip after clearing the field at the opening bend she held pole position throughout to score by six and a half lengths from Cautiontothewind in 22.39.District Nine which is trained by Francis Murray for Scotland owner Howard Wallace completely out paced the field from a flyng start to win the fourth over the 525 yds by five lengths over Dreamy River in 30.22.The fifth race which was decided over the 600 yds resulted in a very easy victory for Noel O'Meara's (Offaly) Aranock Posh which produced an impressive trap to line display to score by an extending nine and a half lengths from Shine with us in 33.88.Off the winners list since last November Gloreen Teddy which is jointly owned by Daniel Drennan and Ms. Joanne Torphy (Laois) rectified matters in fine style when leading all the way to take the seventh race over the 400 yds by five and a quarter lengths in 22.04.Canal Belle which is owned by Brian Murphy (Laois) produced a smashing front running effort to win the eight race over the 525 yds with three lengths to spare from Uifaile Blackie in 30.30.Patrick Coss's (Laois) flying by produced the early pace in the ninth race to lead rounding the opening bend and thereafter he maintained this well earned advantage to score by two and a quarter lengths from Lowtown Blaze in 29.97.The Darragh Lynch trained Compass Leah produced an impressive trap to line display in the tenth where she had three and three quarter lengths advantage over much obliged in 31.28 over the 550 yds trip.The concluding eleventh race which was decided over the 525 yds was won by the Frank Seery trainer Rockhill Time, who made all the running to win by six and a half lengths form Kereight Mag in 29.93.Saturday March 6thCooladerry Fizz topped the showing on the eleventh race programme at Mullingar Greyhound Stadium on Saturday night March 6th with a useful 33.27 return in the sixth race. Owned by Mrs Dorothy Pollard (Ballyporeen) and trained by Sean Meaney this June '08 took the lead at the turn for home to win by five and a half lengths from long time leader Home Belle.Noel Carry's (Meath) Big Punter which was a 3/1 choice in the opening race made every yard of the running to score by three quarters of a length from the running on Compass Kiki in 30.03 over the 525 yds.Noel O'Meara's (Offaly) Aranock Royal was rather fortunate to escape crowding by the leaders down the back straight as he swept clear to win the second race by a length and three quarters from Tahina Leah in 29.77.Offaly trainer Tommy Bolton recorded a double on the night where his Park Patsy and Mirage Blue both obliged. Park Patsy which is owned by Harry Crulkshank (Dublin) took the third race in fine style when winning by three and three quarter lengths from Marigold Billy in 22.14.Mirage Blue completed the Bolton Double in the ninth race over the 525 yds when she made every yard of the running to win by a half a length from Freano Lad in 29.99.
