Sentence adjourned in shoplifting case

A 33-year-old mother who has 10 children had three 11-month sentences adjourned at a recent sitting of Mullingar District Court.Patricia McDonnell whose address was given as 10 Prospect Wood, Longford pleaded guilty to three counts of theft on September 9 2009 and Gardaí noted that she had come to no unfavourable attention since that date.The court heard that on August 30 2008 Ms McDonnell had committed two thefts at the Harbour Place Shopping Centre in Mullingar. The first theft was committed at Boots chemist were she took goods to the value of €210 which included baby bottles and cosmetics. Ms McDonnell then admitted that she took good to the value of €100 from Cards 'n' Things in the centre.Ms McDonnell also admitted taking stationery worth €173 from the same store on August 9.Judge Neilan warned Ms Donnell that she would face a term in Mountjoy if she reoffended.
