Kilbeggan family in final of TG4 talent show

The Wrafters from Kilbeggan have made it through to the final of the TG4 family talent show Réalta agus Gaolta, which takes place this Sunday evening, June 16, at 8.30pm.

Winners of the first heat on the series, the Wrafters (dad Peter, mom Noreen and their three children: thirteen year old Conor, nine year old Thomas and eight year old Aimee) are already well known on the Irish music scene.

On St Patrick's Day 2017 they performed on the Late Late Show and have also opened for a host of big names including Nathan Carter, Johnny McEvoy, The Three Tenors (Ireland), The Fureys and fThe High Kings. Thomas has also performed with Finbar Furey and hopes to record a song written by him soon.

In Sunday's final they are up against the Breskovac sisters from Dublin, the McCormacks from Kilkenny and the Ní Churraoins from Meath.

Hosted by Síle Seoige, this season the series has seen over 70 acts battle it out to impress our judges, Irial O Ceallaigh, musician and TV personality, Sinéad Ní Uallacháin broadcaster with Raidió na Gaeltachta and Jim Lockhart, member of the Irish rock band Horslips.

Participants went head-to-head against each other to win the opportunity to play live on stage supporting the world famous Kíla, in the National Stadium in front of thousands of fans, along with a cash prize of €3,000.

In this years' final, the four remaining families will perform not once, but twice, as they seek to impress the judges and be crowned Ireland’s most talented family.

First the acts will perform the song from their initial heat once more, looking back at how their journey on this year’s series began. Later, they return to perform another song for the judges. The top two acts will then be chosen to compete in a sing off one last time to see who will be crowned Ireland’s most talented family.
