Westmeath staff members honoured in Peter Mark Awards

Four Westmeath based members of the staff of Peter Mark were among 75 staff nationally who were honoured by the hairdresser for their long service. The Westmeath employees honoured were Lorraine Maloney (Athlone, 15 years), Ruth Buckley (Mullingar, 10 years), Tanya Flynn (Mullingar, 10 years) and Christopher Devine (Training Centre, 10 years).

Collectively the 75 people honoured have over 1,400 years of experience in the hairdressing industry ranging from stylists to support staff. That equates to over 2.8 million hours of blow-dying, cutting and colouring hair!

Peter Mark has been at the forefront of Irish hairdressing for 58 years. The first Peter Mark salon was opened by brothers Peter and Mark Keaveney in 1961 on Grafton Street. Their second salon opened to the public in 1964 and their third in Stillorgan in1966. The first unisex salon opened on North Earl St in 1970 and the following year they opened their first training centre at the same location. There are 70 salons across the island of Ireland and the company employs almost 1,700 people making it one of Ireland’s largest employers.
