Carols at the courthouse

Films would lead us to believe that the courthouses are full of people who are prepared to “sing like a canary” – but it was less the sound of canaries and more the sound of angels that filled the airy interior of the refurbished courthouse in Mullingar on December 12 last during a special Christmas carol service.

The newly refurbished courthouse opened its doors in August 2018 and the Carol Service was graciously encouraged by Judge Keenan Johnson, Midland Circuit Judge.

The Mullingar Lynn Singers and a group of musicians from the Mullingar Eye Project gave an exceptional performance to those who attended and great credit must go to them both for a great night’s entertainment.

The event was sponsored by BAM, the Annebrook House Hotel and Oscars Restaurant and the generosity of all resulted in the sum of €1,220 being collected from those who attended and indeed those who could not attend.

The funds were donated to the Cancer Support Centre Mullingar LARCC.

A big thank you to all who made the evening such a great success.
