Girls plan volunteer journey for Self Help Africa with help from Costcutter

Vanessa Shortall and Tracey Morgan are embarking on a volunteer journey for Self Help Africa and plan to walk 120km over a six-day period on a scenic coastal route in northern Spain and heading south east to Santiago.

Self Help Africa and Jamie’s Costcutter Tyrrellspass, have teamed up to help raise funds that they need as part of their camino walk to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain, which is due to take place on September 22-29.

Vanessa and Tracey and Jamie Farrell have come up with the idea that the proceeds from all tea, coffee, and scones purchased in Jamie’s Costcutter, Tyrrellspass, from Thursday 19 April to Sunday 22 April will be donated to Vanessa and Tracey’s fundraiser for Self Help Africa.

Ronan Scully, business development representative for Self Help Africa, said it was a generous act from Jamie Farrell and the funds raised will go towards the vital food and farming needs of Africa’s rural poor.

Vanessa and Tracey would encourage all locals and passers-by to support the cause while also getting value for their money in these challenging times. Donation buckets will also be available at the cash register in Jamie’s Costcutter. All involved thank customers in advance for your support.
