LGFA insists it has 'no control over ticket sales'

As the countdown continues to the Westmeath ladies' upcoming All-Ireland final against Wexford, the LGFA has issued a statement to say it has “no control over ticket sales”.

Westmeath face Wexford in the All-Ireland intermediate final at Croke Park on Sunday week, September 5 (throw-in 1.45pm) - and it's part of a triple header of All-Ireland finals.

The All-Ireland senior final is between reigning champions Dublin and Meath, who defeated Westmeath in last year's intermediate decider. The junior final between Wicklow and Antrim will get the action underway at 11.45am.

However, many supporters have been experiencing frustrating delays as they try to purchase tickets online through the Ticketmaster website.

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) said it was aware that many fans attempting to purchase tickets were "experiencing issues with the Ticketmaster system".

Several fans also had problems in buying tickets via Ticketmaster for the recent All-Ireland U20 football final between Offaly and Roscommon.

"The LGFA has no control over ticket sales – and all tickets must be purchased through Ticketmaster, to ensure compliance with Covid regulations," said the LGFA statement.

The LGFA said it was "working with Ticketmaster to resolve any issues being experienced by spectators".

Tickets are available via the following link - https://am.ticketmaster.com/gaa/lgfagensale - and the LGFA has asked spectators to please note tickets sales are through this link only. There are no tickets on sale via the LGFA office.

Tickets can be purchased in a pod of two with a maximum of three pods in one transaction, and there must be at least one adult in a pod of six.

"Please be patient when booking your tickets, as early demand for the games is high," advised the LGFA.

Ticket prices are as follows - adult: €25; U18s: €5; Hill 16 (adult only): €15.

Meanwhile, the referees for the finals were recently announced, with Shane Curley from the Glinsk club in Galway appointed to take charge of the Westmeath v Wexford clash.

Down’s Brendan Rice will referee the senior final, while Barry Redmond will oversee the junior decider.

All three finals will be shown live on TG4 and all of them are 'result on the day'.
