Westmeath to start with Mayo as league fixtures are revealed

Westmeath will begin their 2022 Lidl Ladies National Football League campaign with an away game against Mayo on Sunday, February 13.

With Division 1 divided into A and B sections, Westmeath will compete in Division 1A and will have home fixtures against Donegal (February 20) and Galway (March 6).

Now managed by former St Dominic's and Roscommon footballer Michael Finneran, Westmeath face a tough league campaign in advance of competing in next year's All-Ireland championship at senior level.

All-Ireland senior champions Meath are in Division 1B alongside 2021 All-Ireland finalists and league champions Dublin, in addition to Cork, the 12-time Division 1 winners.

Two teams will emerge from each of the four-team divisions to contest the Division 1 semi-finals on March 19.

The Division 3 and 4 finals are scheduled for Sunday, April 3, with the Division 1 and 2 finals to be played a week later on April 10.

Roscommon, now under new manager Ollie Lennon, will compete in Division 3A alongside Sligo, Louth and Down.

Offaly are in Division 4B where London will return to league football, in a group also containing Carlow and Limerick.

The composition of all the league divisions is provided below.

Division 1A: Westmeath, Mayo, Donegal, Galway.

Division 1B: Meath, Cork, Dublin, Waterford.

Division 2A: Clare, Kerry, Tipperary, Laois.

Division 2B: Armagh, Cavan, Monaghan, Tyrone.

Division 3A: Louth, Down, Roscommon, Sligo.

Division 3B: Wexford, Kildare, Wicklow, Longford.

Division 4A: Antrim, Derry, Fermanagh, Leitrim.

Division 4B: London, Carlow, Offaly, Limerick.
