The Cathaoirleach Award for Group/Person of the Year went to overall winners Athlone Canal Heritage Group, represented by Brendan Graham, Raymond Dully, Joe McEvoy and Shay Hamilton (with Cllr Frankie Keena, then chairman of Westmeath County Council).

WCC inviting applications for a host of awards and grants

Westmeath County Council is now inviting applications for the Cathaoirleach Award for Westmeath Person/Group of the Year.

The local authority is also seeking nominations for other awards, such as: Community Project of the Year Award; Age Friendly Recognition Award; Pride of Place in the Community Competition; STEM Grant (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Grant); and the Schools Environmental Competition.

Applications forms for the awards are available on the website www.westmeathcoco.ie in the Community Development page under the Cathaoirleach Awards or email communitygrants@westmeathcoco.ie and a form will be sent to you.

Westmeath County Council is now also inviting applications for the following grants: Community Action Grant; Tidy Towns Grant; and the Residents Associations Grant.
