Local artist stages 'Atlantic Windows’ show at Atrium

A Westmeath artist who draws inspiration from his travels on the Wild Atlantic Way is staging a solo exhibition at the Atrium in Mullingar next week.

Cathal Gallagher has been an artist all his life. His works are styled as photo realistic windows looking on the ocean off Kerry, Sligo, and other parts of the west of Ireland. The Athlone man also takes inspiration from the natural beauty of the midlands.

His exhibition, 'Atlantic Windows’, is his second solo show, and it is supported by Westmeath Arts Office. There are more than 20 works, in oil, mixed media and acrylic paint, in the exhibition, and it is open to the public on February 7-17.

Cathal has exhibited his work widely, including two years at the international artfair, Artsource at the RDS. His work has sold worldwide and he has featured on prestigious online sites, including twice on Saatchi Art.

Cathal is delighted that people will be able to view new works in one beautiful location.
