Planning granted for 'Pollard housing development

Planning permission has been granted for a new housing development in Castlepollard.

According to the successful application submitted by Richard O'Dwyer, the new development will consist of five three-bed townhouses on a site at Church Lane.

In a submission objecting to the development, residents from neighbouring Castle Heights said that they were concerned that it would “compromise” the “integrity” of their estate as when they purchased their homes the fact that they were located in a cul-de-sac was a “major consideration”.

Residents also expressed concern about a number of other issues, including the impact that the development would have on the value of their homes and that it “will leave the estate more open to unsavoury behaviour”.
