Belt 'em out at Cathedral Christmas Festival 2011
At Christmas time, when you're flying and rushing around you need a bit of entertainment, and this is why Mullingar Choral Society has put together a fantastic Christmas Festival in the Cathedral of Christ the King, in conjunction with Mullingar Town Band and the combined Cor Schoil Mhuire and Cathedral Choristers. The annual Christmas Festival, usually held in St Paul's, which is currently under renovation, has moved to the cathedral this year, so everyone will have make sure to take extra deep breaths! The concert starts at 7pm and will feature all the favourite Christmas songs, tunes and hymns set to lift the hearts and spirits of both young and old.Everyone involved has been working extra hard this year to bring audiences this special Christmas treat. And do you know what the performers like best of all about this concert? The audience (that's you) get to join in!That's right - if you know the words, or even just the tune, of any of the songs you hear, feel free to sing along, as loud as you like, or as quietly, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you have a good time and that the show helps you to get into the spirit of Christmas. So if you go away from this show feeling happier than when you came in, that's the best reward the singers and band members alike could ask for. Thanks go to choral repetiteurs Fintan Farrelly, Emer Byrne and Marie Therese Cotter for their patience and work in preparation for this concert. There are other people who helped too, with moving the stage, and lots of other jobs. They're too shy to want their names printed, so thanks go to them also.Individual tickets are â¬7.50, while a family ticket is â¬20, and can include as many family members as you like.So do come, sit back and enjoy what promises to be a most enjoyable night's entertainment in the Cathedral of Christ the King, on Sunday December 11 at 7pm.
