Coaching Workshops for football squads
On Saturday next, July 10 in Rosemount a series of Coaching workshops are being organised for the County Under 14 and Under 15 County Development Squads (two squads at each age group - North and South).All squads are asked to assemble in Rosemount for 9.30am with each group having four separate 40 minute sessions - concluding with lunch at 1pmActivities/Skills FocusStation 1: Speed Development /Conditioning (Coaches: James Heffernan / Eddie Bouabbse / Liam O'Reilly - Westmeath Development Officers)Station 2: Tackling/Blocking/Shadowing (Coach: Sean Dempsey - Laois Manager / former Laois Underage Football Development Officer and Leinster Tutor)Station 3: Mental Development/Confidence Building (Presenter: Kevin Clancy of the Enda McNulty led 'Motiv8' company)Station 4: Conditioned Games (Coach: Garry Sammon - Athlone IT/Westmeath Development Officer)Goalkeeping Clinic: Delivered by Christy Byrne (Kildare) - running from 10.00am - 11.30am No doubt this intensive coaching will benefit all players involved.VHI Cúl Camps 2010This week's camps are in Pairc Chiarán Athlone, Collinstown, St. Lomans Mullingar and Kinnegad - three camps next week as follows:-Rochfortbridge (Football)Delvin (Football)Castletown Geoghegan (Hurling/Camogie)Each camp caters for 7 - 12 year olds (boys and girls) and concentrates on fun and enjoyment for all participants. The cost is €70 per child which entitles participants to a full GAA Kit (jersey, togs and socks) as well a kit bag. This tournament is planned to start on Saturday, July 17 (games at 4.00pm). Clubs will have four group games with a finals day expected to be played in mid September.Clubs will be asked to pay a €100 entry fee and this will be put towards prizes/player presentations which will be provided to all teams on the finals day.
