The Mullingar band Fallen Lights are set for an exciting start to 2019: they’ve named January as the release target for their newest single, ‘Extra Time’, their fourth to date.
An up-tempo electro indie track which was produced by London based producer Eliot James, and recorded at Grouse Lodge.
It’s quite a coup to have James on board: his credits include acclaimed bands such as Kaiser Chiefs, Two Door Cinema Club, Bloc Party, Noah and The Whale and The Coronas among others.
‘Extra Time’ is the song and sound the band themselves are most excited about.
The year now finishing has been one to remember for Fallen Lights, who are multi-instrumentalist music graduates, Graham Dowling, Andrew Cody, Joey Murray and Jay Wiley.
They had two single releases in 2018 – Last Train Home in August, and in March, It’s Too Late.
Together both singles received over 14 million impressions on Irish radio.
The band hit some milestones with their first ever Late Late Show appearance and were chosen as FM104’s Select Irish Track of the Month with both singles in the same calendar year.
2018 was also busy for them on the performing side: they played to a sold out 3Arena at this year’s Junk Kouture Finale, The Spoken Word stage at this year’s Electric Picnic, The Main Stage at the Rose of Tralee and also opened for acclaimed Irish acts including Hermitage Green, Hudson Taylor and The Academic, Brave Giant among others.
With grit, determination, musicality and a focus on success, Fallen Lights provide a blend of catchy melodies layered over pulsing rhythms and anthemic guitar licks, with symphonic harmonies from all four members.
The band’s have been working hard on developing their sound and their live show has an arena feel and sound, appealing to multi-genre music fans.
With their first hometown gig in over 12 months lined up, the band are excited to get the chance to showcase that sound. Catch them at The Fence on December 23.
