Sudden death of Declan O'Farrell

The death has occurred today of the well-known Mullingar musician, Declan O’Farrell.

Mr O’Farrell, who had been battling ill-health for some time, died suddenly this morning at his home.

Son of the late writer and army officer Col Padraic O’Farrell and his late wife Maureen, Declan is survived by his children, Naomi, Barry and Jessica; by his brother, Noel; and his sisters Niamh and Aisling.

A highly talented pianist, Declan played extensively in Ireland and abroad, and was highly in demand both as a performer and as an accompanist.
