Charity cyclists complete coast to coast route in one day

The second Annual Coast to Coast Cycle took place on Saturday September 8 from Galway to Malahide – a distance of 230km.

This year 14 dedicated cyclists made the trip in one day, as compared to the inaugural event last year, which spread the trip over two days, Saturday and Sunday.

Once again, the cyclists were raising awareness of the importance of cancer care and the affect of the disease on so many families.

A spokesperson for the group said the cycle was a “very fulfilling experience and the favourable wind and weather conditions added to the occasion”.

They stopped off at Ballinasloe, Mullingar and Trim, where the food and refreshments proved very welcome.

“Having departed from Oranmore, at 8am they arrived safely to Malahide at 8pm very happy with our achievement.”
