Fostering First Ireland is to open an office at Presentation House (second floor), Harbour Street, Mullingar, tomorrow.
The official opening is on Thursday October 11 at 11am, with a coffee morning.
Fostering First Ireland welcomes anyone who would like to drop in to meet the team and chat about becoming a foster carer or to know more about fostering.
Marie Faughey, director, FFI, said: “I am very excited with the opportunity that expanding our office base across the midlands affords us and to further develop the strong partnership we have establish with our colleagues in Tusla.
“I look forward to meeting many potential foster carers across the midlands in the coming months.”
There is currently a shortage of foster carers across the midlands area and Fostering First Ireland (FFI) wants to hear from potential foster families who are keen to make a difference and provide a safe environment to young people.
If you are unable to come to the opening in the morning, FFI is hosting an information event in the Mullingar Office on the evening of Thursday October 11 (5-7pm), where you can learn more about fostering with FFI.
FFI is running a large number of information events across the midlands over the week till October 12 to meet people who may be interested in hearing more about how to foster.
There will be opportunities to speak to a foster carer at these events who can tell you how fostering has changed their lives as well as the lives of the children they care for.
Fostering makes a real difference in a child’s life, providing children and young people with a loving home and the support and encouragement they need to flourish.
