Do you want Deliveroo to come to your town?

Food delivery service Deliveroo has asked the people of Westmeath to make the case why their town should be the next on the list of the firm's expansion targets.

Deliveroo is asking for nominations for where it should expand to next via a dedicated website, challenging the consumers  to make the case for why their town should be top of the company's 2019 Irish expansion plans.

Nominations are now open and can be submitted via the website www.deliveroosnexttown.ie. Nominations will close in November and Deliveroo will then allow users to vote for their choice from a short list of nominations. The eventual winner will be added into Deliveroo’s 2019 expansion plans.

Deliveroo says that its 2018 Ireland expansion programmes means it can now reach to 93,000 more Irish households. The company has also increased the number of restaurants it partners with, meaning the average Irish customer now sees double the number of restaurants to order from compared to the start of year, jumping from 40 to 80.

Following 2018’s expansion, Deliveroo is giving the people of Westmeath the chance to make the case for why their town should be next on the list for Deliveroo’s expansion targets.

One lucky member of the public who nominates the winning town will receive a Deliveroo Gold Card, entitling them to a year’s worth free food on Deliveroo.

Commenting, Deliveroo Ireland Manager Liam Cox said:

“We’re proud of our record of bringing amazing meals direct to customers’ doors and thanks to our expansion in Ireland we are able to reach even more hungry Irish families. But we know that there are Deliveroo fans out there who want us to to expand even faster than we already are, so that’s why we are giving people the chance to tell us why we need to come to their town or area next. We’ve got big plans to grow even more in 2019, bringing more great restaurants to customers across Ireland”.

Cox added: “The Irish market continues to be a success story for Deliveroo, with 76% increase in revenue in 2017 compared to the previous year. There has been significant ongoing investment here that has allowed us expand in Ireland, underlining Deliveroo’s commitment to the irish market”.
