A fundraising concert at St Finian’s College on Thursday December 6 (7.30pm), 'Musical Moments in Mullingar', will showcase a wide range of musical treats from the talented pupils of the college, past and present.
It will include a diverse range of musical styles and performance types representing the many aspects of music life in the school.
Together with scholarship students from The Schola Cantorum, the evening will also feature school choirs, string ensemble, St Finian’s Harps, Ukulele Band, Trad Group and some fine instrumental and vocal soloists.
The main sponsor of the night is AA Music from Lisburn, who have been providing St Finian’s with fine pianos and other musical instruments for many years.
On the evening of the concert, they will hold an exhibition, in the St Finian’s Music Centre, of a wide selection of upright pianos and digital Pianos for sale at keen prices.
A spokesperson for the company said: "AA Music is proud to be supporting the concert and on the night there will be a selection of pianos. Not wanting to take any back with us, all pianos will be available to purchase at special prices with free delivery.
"AA Music are agents for Kawai, Yamaha and appointed mono distributor for Kinsgburg pianos, and anyone interested in a piano or organ for Christmas (or beyond) will be able to talk to one of representatives in The Music Department of St Finian’s College from lunchtime on December 6 or during the interval or immediately after the concert."
Tickets for the night are €10 and are available from the school office or from Fagan’s Toymaster.
