“We’re very lucky here,” Millie Walsh told the Westmeath Examiner this morning, at his Maxol garage on the Dublin Road.
Millie was talking about “the big one” – the National Lottery scratch card he sold and which netted its owner €200,000.
Although the National Lottery hasn’t been in touch with the media to confirm the details yet, one of its officials rang Millie to tell him the news.
Apart from this “big one”, Millie’s shop has sold five tickets that have won €10,000 each this year.
He estimates that around 12 of every 20 customers to the shop buy Lottery tickets of one sort or another, and people regularly win €100, €50 and €25.
“When they win, they keep coming back,” said Millie.
