Westmeath camogie stars Pamela Greville (Raharney) and Aoife Higgins (Lough Lene Gaels) have been nominated for Soaring Star awards by the Camogie Association.

Raharney’s Greville, who won Soaring Star awards in 2012 and 2015, was a consistent top scorer at centre forward for Westmeath this year, as the Maroons guaranteed themselves provincial senior championship camogie next year, and reached the Division 2 league final.

Lough Lene Gaels star Higgins lined out at full back on Westmeath’s intermediate team this year, and put in solid performances in every game. She also represented the Lake County on the Leinster team in the interprovincial competition this summer.

The annual Camogie Association awards will take place in the CityWest Hotel, Dublin on Saturday November 4.
