Thousands raised at Mullingar Charity Fashion Show

It was a night to remember for all who attended the recent charity fashion show at the Mullingar Park Hotel, which is one of the most successful fashion shows held in the town to date.

Organised by local businesses in conjunction with the Rotary Club, Mullingar, the event has helped to raise thousands of euro for two deserving charities: the Mater Neurological Institute and Lissadell School in Mullingar. The final tally is not in just yet, but it`s believed that between €25,000 and €30,000 was raised on the night.

Approximately eight hundred people crammed the Park Hotel that Thursday night where they were treated to a fabulous champagne reception prior to the fashion show.

The turnout caused two massive traffic jams at the hotel coming from each end of Mullingar, with parking spaces at a premium!

Compere on the night, Celia Holman Lee was completely overwhelmed by the venue and indeed the number of people in attendance.

Those who enjoyed the night were also delighted to see Celia`s modelling agency using normal-sized models for the fashion show, who looked absolutely fabulous in clothes from boutiques and shops around Mullingar, with gorgeous styles to suit both the young trendsetter and the more mature woman.

The models` hair was absolutely outstanding by Profile Hair Design and their makeup was by 5th Avenue. The finale of the show gave a really glamorous end to the fashion, with clothes by Irish Tatler Designer of the Year, Deborah Veale, by The Fashion Shop.

Of course, the night was still young after the show concluded, and dancing began in the bar until the early hours to the fantastic band of husband and wife duo, The Big Kahuna!

If you missed out on this super event, never fear... organisers are talking about making it a bi-annual event!
