Kinnegad Notes
Just like their Leinster Champion Westmeath colleagues a few years ago, the victorious Maryland team made Kinnegad their first stop on their celebratory tour home on Saturday.
It was a great honour for Westmeath that Maryland representing Westmeath won the Celebrity Bainsteoir competition under the stewardship of Marty Whelan.
The cup crossed the Kinnegad river into Westmeath and was displayed at the Hilamar Hotel, the current sponsor of the Westmeath team, to begin a whirlwind of celebration lasting many days and many parts of the county. Well done to Maryland for their outstanding performances right through the competition and particularly in the final.
