Conceding home advantage to a determined team from The Curragh, this match proved to be a tough affair with most matches going to the 17th hole.At home, Brian Brady had a slow start against a big hitting opponent but managed to turn a two hole deficit into a 2&1 victory and put a vital point on the board for Moate. However, John Reynolds was unable to add the second win, despite leading for most of his match.Away from home Declan Mullally continued his run of form and ended his game with a resounding victory on the 14th. Alan Tyrrell, who has performed heroics all season, kept his concentration to produce victory number three on the 17th. Paul Tooher (away) and Padraig Keenan (home) were locked in difficult battles to produce the all important win. Both of them were taken to the 17th, but both holed vital putts to see Moate comfortably into the final. Conor McGuinness was still alive in his match and was called in for a half. The final is fixed for August 16 in Tullamore, with the opponents not yet decided. This is the first time since 1997 that Moate have featured at this stage of the competition and if they can repeat their form of the earlier rounds outright victory is not beyond them.ResultsBank Of Ireland Prize: 1st: Shane Coffey (14) - 41pts, Cat 1: Jimmy Digan (4) - 41pts, Cat 2: Phil Behan (12) - 41pts, Cat 3: Michael Dowling (23)- 38pts, Gross: Sean Coffey (4) - 35pts, Back 9: Dolph Brennan(23) - 25pts.Garda Prize: 1st: Sean Donaghy (12) - 41pts, Cat 1: Damien Farrell (6) - 40pts, Cat 2: Andy Dolan (12) - 39pts, Cat 3: Michael Heavin (21) - 40pts, Gross: Michael Power (2) - 34pts, Back 9: Paul Tooher (14) - 21pts.Thursday Open: 1st: Francis Bannon (15) - 42, 2nd: Mark Conneely (9) - 40pts, 3rd: Benny Greham (9) - 40pts.
