Rathowen Notes

People in the Community of Rathowen and Ballinalack were saddened at the death of Iggy Fulham who died last weekend. Iggy was well known through his involvement in the GAA and coaching schools locally and further afield, and he took great pride in bringing the kids through school football and in turn this led them to play for their local clubs.  Only recently he ran a tournament in Milltown for which St Thomas school took part for the first time and reached the final. Iggy was also chairman of Bunbrosna under age and achieved a lot in his time there. He was a retired army Sergeant in Mullingar Barracks and the army pallbearers were present at both his removal and funeral to pay their respects.Iggy"s removal was to Rathowen church on Tuesday evening and his funeral was to the new cemetery in Multyfarnham on Wednesday.  To his family, Denise, Darren, Derek and David; his father P.J. and mother Teresa; brother Peter, and Mary and Maureen and Patricia; sister in law Liz, and all his nieces and nephews and other family and friends, deepest sympathy is extended.  May he rest in peace.Training at Rathowen post officeRathowen Post Office will be closed Monday 18th August from 10.30am to 2.00pm for training.
