Jonathan Duggan wins his second Junior Scratch Cup
Congratulations and well done to Jonathan Duggan on winning the Junior Scratch Cup in Portarlington Golf Club on Sunday, September 29. This is the second time in recent months that Jonathan has won a Junior Scratch Cup; the first one was in Mullingar.This is a remarkable achievement by this young man and no doubt we will hear a lot more about him in the future. Keep up the good work, Jonathan.Annual Captains" Dinner DanceThe annual Captains" dinner dance will take place in the Old Darnley Lodge, Athboy, Co. Meath on Saturday, November 8. Tickets are priced at €35 each. The meal will be served at 9pm and the music will be supplied by 'Switch'. The Captains" would like everyone to come and show their support on the night. It"s always a very enjoyable occasion. Tickets are available at the clubhouse or from any member of the committee.Annual General MeetingThe Annual General Meeting of the men"s club has been fixed for Sunday November 30 commencing at 4pm. This meeting has always been very well attended and it gives the general membership the opportunity to air their views or to raise issues which they feel need to be addressed. If members wish to put forward motions they may do so in writing and must lodge them with the committee not later than 4pm on the eighth day prior to the AGM. The date in question is Saturday, November 22.Tudenham Cup FinalThe final of the Wallace Recycling Tudenham Cup takes place in Mullingar Golf Club on Saturday next October 18. The starting time is 12.30pm. Birr Golf Club provides the opposition. We wish John Ayres and his team the very best of luck. There is a block draw for this competition so it will be necessary for members to contact the clubhouse to establish their exact tee-off time. The draw will take place on the previous Friday evening.
