Local players shine for College team

St. Josephs, Rochfortbridge Senior team played the Leinster Colleges quarter final in Kinnegad on Wednesday evening against St Benidus Dublin and made it to the semi-final against Good Counsel, Wexford.Unfortunately, our lads didn"t make it to the final but having two of their strong players out and only playing three days after the last match they were at a disadvantage. This group of lads can be very proud of their achievements. Well done to Cormac Davey and his team, the players from Coralstown/Kinnegad were Wayne Fox (Captain), Paul Lewis, Clive Kiernan, Jason Cully, Cathal O"Reilly, Finbar Murphy and Daniel Coyne.North Leinster "A" FinalThe under 14 lads from St. Josephs were on the playing fields again when they made it to the final of the North Leinster against St. Pats, Navan who come from an all boys school. St. Josephs were on a roll right up to the end when Pats scored that all important goal in the last minute of the game. The game held, in Mullingar, was very short on support for the "Bridge while Navan team had two forty seater buses on hand. What a pity St. Josephs just didn"t get the luck as they were by far the better team.Well done to Luke Dempseys lads as this was the first time Josephs ever made it to an Under 14 "A" Final. Congratulations to the lads from Coralstown/Kinnegad club who contributed so well to make it to the final, Shane Murtagh, Aaron Glynn and Darren Giles.Registration DayOn Saturday, February 28 we are holding our Registration Day.
