Comaskey has radical plan for roads

Speaking at his campaign launch in Delvin, Fine Gael"s candidate for the Coole Area, Bernie Comaskey listed three of his main targets if elected to Westmeath County Council.'If something is not working we have to make courageous moves to change the system', said Mr. Comaskey. 'For example, look at our roads: we will soon again become the pot-hole capital of Europe and already we have the highest rate of car depreciation in the EU.'Mr. Comaskey also spoke of the importance of ensuring the highest standards in local drinking water supplies, and said that rail transport is also a priority for him.'I have many times in the past expressed sadness and anger at how the railroad network in Ireland was literally plundered,' he continued.'I have promoted the re-opening of Killucan Railway Station at every opportunity and if elected for the area, I shall wholeheartedly intensify my efforts in this regard.'Mr. Comaskey"s launch night was attended by Mayo TD and football manager John O"Mahony.
