She had a beautiful mass and a community evening in the parochial hall. Everyone had a great time and danced the night away. A big thank-you to everyone who helped in anyway to make this such a special celebration.Axing of Westmeath RuralCommunity TransportAn Board Snip Nua has recommended that Rural Transport across the country be axed. If this recommendation is proceeded with it will be a huge kick in the teeth for people living in rural isolated areas. It seems ludicrous to axe a programme that has been an outstanding success and has brought back independence and given a lifeline to people living in rural and very remote areas/ For County Westmeath the loss of this transport would mean that almost 46,000 passengers will lose a very vital service that they have now become so dependent on.G.A.A Lotto ResultDraw held on Thursday August 6th and the numbers drawn were 6, 13, 17, 20. There was no jackpot winner. There were 3 x €40 winners. They were Troy Maher, John Kerrigan and Mick Gray. The next draw will be held on Thursday August 13th with a jackpot of €3,300.Cara Phort Family Resource CentreThe Cara Phort Family Resource Centre summer camps were very successful again this year.
