Castledaly lose their football crown

The final round of this year's group stage of the Shay Murtagh Senior Football Championship took place last weekend and we now know the make up of the knock-out stages. Garrycastle, who topped their division, overcame Castledaly in a closely contested match and at the same time Maryland who were last year's Intermediate winners drew with Mullingar Shamrocks thus knocking out last year's champions, Castledaly.Killucan played out a high scoring draw with Bunbrosna who were seven points behind at one time. This result means that Killucan are safe in the senior ranks for next year and Bunbrosna must play The Downs in a relegation play-off after The Downs lost out narrowly to Tyrrellspass. St. Loman's, Mullingar defeated Athlone in a close and entertaining tie, with St. Malachy's losing out to Coralstown/Kinnegad who topped their division.Knock-out stages are as follows:Quarter-Finals: Tyrrellspass v.
