Coralstown Kinnegad GAA Drive in Bingo Great Success - There was a monster Drive in Bingo in the Coralstown Kinnegad GAA grounds on Sunday and there was great turn out.Well done to all who organised such a successful event. Everyone is already looking forward to the next bingo in the Spring.Good luck to under 14 boys team who play Mullingar Shamrocks in the County Final in Cusack Park on Saturday. Well done to Under 14 boys hurling team form Raharney who won the County Final Sunday and well done to Kinnegad's Aaron Glynn, Darren Giles and Chris Cole who play with them.Congratulations to the Ladies over 30s team who played an exciting challenge match in aid of Breast Cancer against Round Tower Gaelic for Mothers team from Dublin. According to all reports many of those who played should still be making themselves available to the senior team. Enquiries and bookings to 0449375496 or 087 6865594Credit Union National Poster CompetitionYoung local artists up to 18 years of age and over are being invited to submit entries for this year's Credit Union National Poster Competition which has been launched by Kinnegad and District Credit Union on the theme 'My Credit Union, My Choice'. Now in its 26th year the competition attracts up to 50,000 entries through 300 credit unions nationwide and caters for all ages, with categories ranging from 7 to over 18 years of age. There is also a special category for those with physical and intellectual disabilities.Student loansKinnegad and District Credit Union is still offering students loans at a reduced rate of 6%. Whether it's your first year in college, you're returning after the summer break to continue your course or thinking of attending a part-time course, the credit union student loan is available to you. Meanwhile Sammy Saving Stamps are available from the Credit Union office for €2 each. The Credit Union will be returning to the local school in the coming weeks with its Sammy Saving Stamps where children from first to sixth class can purchase stamps.Halloween Cookery Camp at CairdeasHaving proved a very popular event during the summer holidays Cairdeas are running another cookery camp. This time the theme of the camp will be Halloween. The camp takes place on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th October. Times are 10am to 12.30pm for 5 - 8 yr olds and 1.30pm to 4pm for 9 - 13 yr olds. Serenity House is the ideal place to meet old friends and make new acquaintances.Kinnegad Parish NewsA warm welcome to Fr Emmanuel Abuh who is doing post graduate study in Maynooth and will be in the parish for the next year on a two day a week plus weekend basis. He will reside at the parochial house.Envelopes for the List of the Dead will be available in all churches this weekend. Thank you to all who supported the collection for LARCC Cancer Support Centre.The dates for the sacraments in Kinnegad parish in 2010 are: first communion in The Downs in on Saturday the 24th April at 11 am. Confirmation in Kinnegad on Friday the 30th April at 11 am. First communion in Coralstown is on Saturday the 8th May at 11 am. First communion in St Etchen's is on Saturday the 22nd May at 11 am. First communion in Clonard is on Saturday the 29th May at 11 am. Clonard 1500 will meet on Wednesday the 21st October at 8pm in St Finian's Hall. A DVD of the Clonard Tractor run is available from the parish office on 9375197. The rosary will be recited every evening at 7.30 pm in Kinnegad church for the month of October and all are welcome. The parish is considering a centenary issue of the parish magazine which would give the parish a snapshot in centenary year of the local changes since the last magazine in 1989. Anyone who would like to be involved can phone 9375117.Parish MagazineThere is to be a 2009 edition of the parish magazine and it is to be ready for Christmas. At this stage the group welcomes articles and year review pieces from individuals and groups. Photographs of events during the year would be welcome. All material for inclusion in the magazine must be at the parish office for Friday the 6th November. Call 9375117 for information. The Parish Centenary Committee meets in the parochial house on Thursday the 22nd October at 8 p.m.National Breast ScreeningA mobile unit for breast Screening is available in the grounds of St Mary's Hospital, Mullingar.
