Niamh hopes a Meteor will come her way!

A Tyrrellspass woman and her co-presenter on a Dublin radio station have been nominated for one of this year's Meteor awards.Niamh Crowley and Jim McCabe present The Strawberry Alarm Clock, a light-hearted comedy-based breakfast show, on Dublin's FM104 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. each morning.While Niamh had never met co-host Jim, who hails from Finglas, until two days before they started on the show, they clicked straight away, and have now presented The Strawberry Alarm Clock for almost three years.The duo have been nominated for an award in the Best Regional DJ category, and are thrilled.The Meteor Awards take place on February 19 in Dublin's O2, and Niamh, who once presented the breakfast show on Midlands 103, said she was thrilled when told of the nomination."I just can't believe that we have been nominated."Whether we win or not doesn't matter: being nominated is just fantastic."There's a huge Westmeath-based listenership for the show, thanks to the local connection, and there are texts in every day from listeners from this area."Being from the county, I love to see the Westmeath texts - especially of course from Tyrrellspass!" says Niamh, who is back in Tyrrellspass regularly as her mother, Maggie, still lives there.Anyone who wants to lend Niamh and Jim their support can do so at www.meteor.ie, or by texting VOTE RDJ2 to 085 7114444.
