The late Olly Flynn

Much sadness and great regret was occasioned by the sudden death of Oliver (Olly) Flynn, Ashe Road Mullingar at the Midlands Regional Hospital at Mullingar, Tuesday 9th February 2010, aged 58.A member of a well known local family, Olly worked hard for many years in the family business, the Green Inn Public House.In his youth, Olly played for Mullingar Town AFC and was a great goalie earning himself the nickname, "The Cat". Olly was also a great supporter of Arsenal FC and loved darts and snooker.Olly, ran the family business, The Green Inn, with his late father Christopher Flynn. He set up the soccer team, "The Green Inn Rangers", which largely consisted of army personnel.His removal took place on Wednesday evening, 10th February, from Con's Funeral Parlour. The Funeral Mass was the following day, Thurday 11th February, celebrated by Fr McMahon ADM, Mullingar followed by internment at Ballyglass cemetery. There was a large attendance at both the removal and funeral.Olly is pre-deceased by his father Christopher and his brother Brendan. He is survived by his partner Hanne, his son Clifford, mother Eileen, brothers Chris (Dublin), Dermot, (London), Ger and Brian, (Mullingar) and sister Aislish Dixon, (Slane), brother in law pat, Clifford's mum Barbara Flynn, sister-in-law, Teresa, great friend Paula, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and great-nephew Matthew), relatives and many friends.
