Rain fails to deter young riders
The heavens opened and the rain poured down for the opening two events on Friday last but it was like water off a duck's back as to the effect it had on holding back the usual gang of young riders who turn out each week for the 40 and 60 cm classes. Chloe and Robyn Fagan with Aaron and Jodie in tow were the first arrivals and as usual they all jumped faultless clear rounds. Rose Dolan who only recently teamed up with Misty is making great progress in the 40cm, and it won't be long until sister Emma joins her in the saddle.Amy Cullen, Lauren Shaw and Saoirse McNamee are having such fun with Blossom and Jack as they add to their tally of weekly rosettes. Steven Walsh along James and Charlie Drumm are seldom out of the ribbons each week, so keep up the good work boys! Sean Mc Gann is certainly one to watch in the 60cm. Sean only recently returned to the showjumping arena after a long break and has already been placed on at least three occasions. (Watch out Ruth!)Well done to Sara Jane Kenny who is busy preparing for her Leaving Cert in June and still manages to successfully compete each week in the 70cm with Ralph.There are four weeks to go to the current League Final on March 26 so there is still plenty of time to pick up valuable points. Jumping next Friday as usual at 6pm. New competitors are always welcome.SJI Saturday League:With just three weeks gone in the SJI Saturday league there has been a steady turn out each week. Roisin Fagan, Eoghan McLoughlin, Killian Norris, Rachel Shaw, Rion Murphy, Nano Healy and Sophia Harding all featured in the pony classes. Patricia Woods kept another clean sheet with Crissaun Andy and Miller.It was first day out in the horse section for Anna Liddy, Lorna coffey and Conor Sheridan who showed no ill effects of the winter break as they each went clear in their respective classes. Instead of moving outdoors next week as originally planned we have decided to stay indoors for another week.
