Calling all fashionistas: LARCC is going to the races

Kilbeggan Races on Saturday, August 7 will play host to LARCC (Lakelands Area Retreat and Cancer Support Centre) for their biggest summer fundraiser, with the first race kicking off at 5.30pm.For the second year running LARCC's evening at Kilbeggan Races is being promoted far and wide in the hope that much needed funds will be raised to help maintain the level of cancer support services being delivered from the LARCC centre in Ballinalack.Due to the current economic climate funds are low and charities like LARCC are finding themselves back trying to fundraise as much as ever before. Because of this they are asking your support for this their big summer event.LARCC's special guest for the evening will be Rose of Tralee, Ms. Charmaine Kenny (the London Rose) who has a lot of local connections. The Littlewoods Ireland Best Dressed Lady Competition will see fashion at the forefront once again at Kilbeggan with wonderful prizes to be won for the best dressed lady. Celebrity judges will cast their well trained eye on the best of fashion and style the Midlands has to offer.It's family fun all the way with free family entertainment area and children go free.Tickets are €20 and the only way to support LARCC is to buy your tickets in advance, as sale of tickets on the evening will not go to the charity. Westmeath (just 10 mins from Mullingar), endeavours to give support and holistic help to people living with cancer and provides a homely and supportive environment where patients and family members can participate in it's courses, obtain information and experience complementary therapies.The call-in service allows people living with a cancer diagnosis and their supporters to avail of cancer support services including one-to-one counselling, art therapy and a range of complementary therapies including massage, Indian head massage, Reiki and Reflexology to name a few. The 'call in' clients agree to a series of 8 free therapy or counselling sessions, arrangement by appointment after consultation.The breast care service at LARCC is available to Private clients and Medical Card holders and offers consultation and specialist fitting and supply of Prosthesis, Bra and Swimwear with a large range of stock available. To arrange a consultation with our specialist fitters please contact the Centre.The centre also offers courses such as Pamper Days and unique to LARCC is the residential programme which welcomes people from all over Ireland, cancer sufferers and their supporters, to the centre for a 5 day break.
