Hogan eliminated on vote of 6437

Sinn Féin's Paul Hogan has been eliminated after the seventh count in the Longford Westmeath constituency. The Athlone man wound up with a final vote of 6437 after the distribution of James Bannon's surplus. The next vote will be the final, and in the running for the last two seats are Robert Troy, Nicky McFadden and Peter Burke.Burke has, however, effectively accepted defeat and left the count centre, acknowledging that the gap between himself and McFadden is too great to bridge. The final line-up will, therefore, be Penrose (Lab), Bannon (FG), McFadden (FG) and Troy (FF).
