A Mullingar man studying in Asia for the last six months is encouraging others to apply for the scholarship that has enabled him pursue a postgraduate degree in Singapore.Ciarán Lawlor, who is from Irishtown, is studying Asian business through a scholarship programme designed to build commercial links between Ireland and Asia.The Master of Business Studies in Asian Business is a work-study programme for Irish professionals who want a career in international business in one of the world's fastest growing regions.The scholarship is awarded by the Farmleigh Fellowship, which originated from the forum of the Irish Diaspora with the same name held in Dublin in 2009.Ciarán holds a BSc in Financial Mathematics and Economics from the NUI Galway. He was attracted to the Fellowship because of the unique opportunity to study in a world class academic environment in addition to the chance to work for an international company in the world's most exciting business region.
