What have Victoria Beckham, Will.i.am and Eva Longoria got in common?Well, they're all lagging behind Mullingar man Niall Horan on page two of the list of the world's most popular tweeters.At the time of writing, Niall's account NiallOfficial, has 3,907,562 followers on Twitter - making him the 115th highest ranked user of the social network in the world. He's the second most popular One Direction member, (Harry Styles has 4,444,431 followers) and is by a long shot Ireland's most popular tweeter. Twitter is predicting that within two days, Niall will have an incredible four million followers, and reckon he's picking up an average of 25,165 new followers every day.He's also a prolific tweeter, tweeting on average nine times a day, and having tweeted a total of almost 4,500 updates to his status so far.Mind you, everyone's got a lot of catching up to do if they want to get anywhere near Lady Gaga, who comes top of the list worldwide, with 25,555,017 followers, or the second most popular tweeter, Justin Bieber, who has 23,134,825 followers.Ireland's next most popular tweeter appears to be Dara O'Briain, who looks as though he is about to breach the magic one million followers soon. Also doing well are Jedward, with 639,708 followers.Other big name Irish stars with twitter accounts include Brian O'Driscoll with 185,891 followers and Keith Duffy on 101,923, while Bono has attracted exactly 30,000 followers; Liam Neeson has 6,176 followers.Niall's popularity is bringing fans to other Mullingar tweeters too, it seems, not least his brother, Greg (Greghoran87), who has 131,497 followers, and his friend Sean Cullen (seancullen95), who has some 136,925 following. Ex-girlfriend, Holly Scally has notched up 16,701 followers on twitter.Another Mullingar man amassing oodles of twitter followers is Niall Breslin (nbrez), now up to 63,418.Niall (Horan) showed he's still well in touch with his old friends last week when he took to Twitter to wish good luck in the Leaving Cert to Sean Cullen, and to another friend, Brad Byrne (7,966 followers).Film on the horizonMeanwhile, there are rumours afoot that the One Direction boys may be about to be the subject of a film - in 3D. Film sources have been quoted in the international press as saying that it could net the five a cool €10m apiece.They are also to have a new album for release by Christmas.
