Love:Live Music in Mullingar

Mullingar hosts one of more than 200 live music events around the country on June 21 for Love:Live music, Ireland's celebration of National Music Day.Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is gearing up to celebrate the traditional arts on what is the longest day of the year with some fast flowing, foot tapping seisiúns. Celebrations kick off with an outdoor seisiún from 2-3.30pm on Thursday June 21 on Market Square in Mullingar, hosted by the town's CCÉ branch.Later (8.30pm), there is a Seisiún Group Showcase in the seomra ceoil/performance hall at Áras an Mhuilinn, followed by an informal seisiún in the bar area (free entry to the concert).The concert will be the launch of the Summer Seisiún Shows which will take place on a weekly basis throughout July and August. Each Wednesday at 8.30pm, you will find a colourful display of traditional music, song, dance and storytelling. These summer shows at Áras an Mhuilinn, the Midlands Regional CCÉ Resource Centre, will feature artists from the Westmeath, Longford, Laois and Offaly.If you haven't been to Áras an Mhuilinn, this is your chance - go along on Thursday 21 June and view the facilities in the newly refurbished building at the bottom of Mount Street.Fáilte roimh cách, everybody welcome.
