Active Retirement Ireland hosted a race night at Kilbeggan Races last Friday August 24 when groups came from as far as Waterford and Donegal.The evening featured a Best Dressed competition and the Active Retirement Ireland Handicap Steeplechase, which went to Prince of Leisure, owned by the Home and Dry Syndicate, and trained by David Broad, of Kilcock.Active Retirement Ireland is a network of some 500 community organisations involving a membership approaching 23,000 older people in a countrywide movement that helps retired men and women, usually over the age of 50 lead a full happy and healthy retirement by offering organised opportunities for a wide range of activities - holidays, outings and socials; creative and learning programmes; indoor and outdoor sports and community work.
