Curraghmore NS FUN run

The Curraghmore NS Parents Committee are organising a fun run/ and walk on March 10 to raise funds for the school, and the emphasis is on the FUN.

Committee member Lorcan Sleator said: "To raise funds for the school we have had the card nights, the quiz nights, the talent nights, so it was time to come up with something original – a fun run/walk!"

Funds raised will help cover the cost of music and sports classes for students: "That is unless the monies are needed for counselling if my son Nathan is traumatised from seeing his father dressed in drag," added Lorcan.

The fun run and walk is at 11am on Sunday March 10 and registration is at the ORS car park beside the Mullingar Park Hotel, 9.30-10.30am. The event is AAI approved and costs €10 for adults and €5 for kids. Prizes include a star prize for best fancy dress!

Mark Murphy is also a member of the parents committee, and he said: "We are hoping everybody comes along and enjoys themselves - including any fathers who think they look better in drag than Lorcan and want to come along on Mother’s Day dress(ed) up to prove it…"
