Westmeath family at Organ Donor Awareness Week launch

Members of the Westmeath branch of the Irish Kidney Association joined RTÉ’s Joe Duffy at the national launch of Organ Donor Awareness Week in the Mansion House, Dublin on Monday.

Included were Eddie Flood, a national board member of the IKA, from Killucan, and his sons Graham and Gavin, and Claire Bardon from Ballynacargy.

The annual life saving awareness campaign takes place from March 30 to April 6. Throughout the week IKA volunteers will be distributing organ donor cards and selling forget-me-not flower emblems (the symbol of transplantation) in towns and villages throughout Westmeath.
