Mullingar courthouse design completed

Deputy Alan Shatter, Minister for Justice and Equality, has announced that design has been completed for the refurbishment and extension of the courthouse in Mullingar, and Part 9 Planning has also been obtained, writes Morgan Beausang.
This information was disclosed on foot of two questions from Deputy Niall Collins, who asked about the current status of projects involving courthouses in Cork, Westmeath, Waterford, Limerick, Drogheda and Letterkenny. In the case of Wexford, design has also been completed, and Part 9 Planning has also been obtained.
In answering this question, Deputy Alan Shatter also replied to Deputy Gerald Nash, who asked when exactly construction work will commence on the courthouses; with Shatter believing that the projects will most likely “commence during 2015, with a view to the projects completing during 2016.”
