Mullingar based band Appian Way perform this Sunday at Ballymahon's Helium Festival

Local acts perform at Helium Festival

Local acts Appian Way and Downward Spiral play the Helium Festival in Ballymahon this Sunday June 9 which acts as a fundraiser for Ataxia Ireland.

The buzz is building for the day long music event which is only days away and will see an amazing line up of artists performing across three stages from 2pm until late!

Headliners include The Stunning; Mick Flannery, Fight Like Apes, Wallis Bird, Hermitage Green, KILA, O Emperor, Kopek, David Kitt and Mark Geary, among others.

As it’s Helium’s fifth birthday there are a number of surprises planned throughout the day and night to celebrate the success of the last five years. With a number of healthy activities on offer in addition to the music – including this year’s feature associated event the Helium 5 & 10K Challenge – getting up and getting active has never been so enjoyable in Ballymahon before!

Further to all of that athletic excitement, there will be free arts activities on site at the Helium Festival venue on offer to the punters as well so with the free camping, parking and food alongside, it’s no surprise that there’s a heightened interest in this year’s festival.
Music lovers are in for an all round treat at this boutique extravaganza of quality music. And the beauty of it all is the very worthy cause behind the fundraiser – Ataxia Ireland (ataxia.ie). Sufferers of genetic ataxias – like Friedreich’s Ataxia - can find themselves extremely limited and debilitated by their condition but thanks to groups like Ataxia Ireland, the quality of life they see can vastly improve with the proper care and support offered by the society.
