Ballinagore's country music star Mizzell on Opry an Iúir

American native Robert Mizzell, which Ballinagore and Westmeath have claimed as their own, will perform as part of Opry an Iúir on TG4 tomorrow Wednesday October 16!

The country music star has made Ballinagore his home for over 20 years now.

Robert served his apprenticeship in Country Music since he first arrived in Ireland and is now one of the top Country Music artists in Ireland and the UK.

He has released nine solo studio albums and a full length DVD to date, and is constantly touring Ireland and the UK with his band “The Country Kings”.

Voted “Ireland’s Favourite Country Music Singer” earlier this year in a poll conducted by RSVP Magazine, the cowboy-hat-wearing singer was born in Louisiana, on the shores of Lake Bistineau near Shreveport.

His early musical influences came from his parents who both performed in a Church Gospel group.

He joined the US army where he served for a number of years. After his military service he moved to Ireland with dreams of a career in country music.

Robert said he would never date a fan or a person who attended his shows, however, that all changed when he met his fiancée Adele from Tyrone - who had been a fan of his for many years.
