St Loman's will be hoping that John Heslin's rich vein of form continues this Sunday against Vincent's.

Vincent's on the way to Mullingar

St Loman’s will have to overcome the challenge of Dublin’s new county champions St Vincent’s on Sunday if they are to remain in this year’s all Ireland club championship.

The Marino side claimed their first title since 2007 with a one point victory over last year’s champions Ballymun Kickhams in last night’s replayed final in ParnellPark.

The game with right down to the wire with Cameron Diamond scoring the winning point with less than a minute on the clock – the first time Vincent’s led throughout the match.

The Dublin giants will go into Sunday’s game against Loman’s in CusackPark – their third game in a week – without Dublin all Ireland winner Diarmuid Connolly who was sent off in the 55th minute following a clash with county colleague Philly McMahon.

Speaking to the Westmeath Examiner earlier in the week, Loman’s manager Declan Rowley hoped playing so many games in such a short period of time will takes its toll on Vincent’s, who are captained by Dublin star Ger Brennan.

“It’s not easy to play a county final on a Sunday, then play the replay on Wednesday and then go straight into Leinster the following Sunday. The dice may have fallen our way I think.”
