Mullingar man stars in RTÉ show's first civil partnership

Trevor Moore (29) from Mullingar will feature on the fourth season of Don’t Tell the Bride this Thursday January 23 on RTÉ Two at 9.30pm.

He will take part in Don’t Tell the Bride’s first ever civil partnership with partner Alan Dunleavy (39) from Blanchardstown in Dublin.

In the second episode of the new season, Trevor is tasked with creating a dream wedding for Alan, who enjoys the finer things in life and has high expectations.

Trevor has just three weeks to organise everything for the big day from the couple’s home in Dublin without any contact with Alan, and enlists the help of his groomswomen to get everything planned.

Alan and Trevor have been together for more than four years. They met on a night out in The George bar in Dublin when they were both wearing the same T-shirt. Their love story began straight away, even though they are complete opposites.

Perfectionist Alan is the organiser in the relationship and had grand ideas for a five-star wedding. He revealed he had doubts about handing over the reins to Trevor for the big day. “The worst thing for me was being out of control, doubts began growing in my mind and I kept imagining the worst case scenario.

“Trevor is a huge Harry Potter fan; I already find watching the movie quite taxing and I had nightmares that he would choose that as the theme. Having no contact with Trevor was horrible too, towards the end it felt like being in witness protection!”

For social studies student Trevor, the hardest thing about organising the wedding was sorting out the bridesmaid dresses. “We had five bridesmaids, each with their own personality and idea of what they wanted to wear, at the end I was really losing the will to stick with it,” he said.

“I wanted to go with a colourful theme like Alice in Wonderland but the more colour I brought into the wedding the more worried I was Alan would be upset, as he has quite a sophisticated style.”

As they get closer to the big day Trevor eases the tension by playing a few pranks on his partner, but will Alan find them funny or has Trevor gone too far?
