It is ‘lights, camera, action’ for the Mullingar International Horse Show as the prestigious equine event features in an hour long programme on Irish TV and on www.irishtv.ie next week.

The Mullingar International Horse Show has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2008 attracting competitors and spectators from all over the country to the wonderful show grounds of the Mullingar Equestrian centre.

This year, the show highlights will get international TV exposure with a film crew from Irish TV capturing all the colour and characters from this well established equine showcase. The programme entitled ‘Out and About in Ireland’ produced by Irish TV will broadcast on SKY TV channel 191, Freesat 400, Evision 191 and online on irishtv.ie on Thursday July 10 at 9pm.

Highlights from the four day event will feature throughout the programme with discerning and engaging interviews from passionate equine followers from Ireland and further afield.

Director of the Mullingar international Horseshow Robert Fagan, equestrian Alexander Butler and North Westmeath Hospice Chairperson John Shaw are amongst those that feature in the insightful programme.

Commenting on the broadcast, Irish TV producer Pierce O’Reilly stated the programme shines a light on one of Ireland’s favourite pastimes and traditions. “It is fantastic to see such a time-honoured custom thriving today. This week’s programme on Irish TV and www.irishtv.ie will showcase the equine classes and competitions as well as capturing all the action from the Country Fayre,” commented O’Reilly.

“There is a huge equine heritage and history in this region and we are delighted that the crew from Irish TV spent the day here to showcase the magic of this horse show to a global audience.

It’s also nice for people that couldn’t make it home this year or for those who have emigrated, they still get to see a flavor of home and see what’s happening,” commented Mullingar International Horse Show director Robert Fagan.

Aswell as showcasing the Mullingar International Horse Show and Coutnry Fayre, the programme this week also features a cooking demonstration from new Irish TV Paul Treyvaud, a celebration of the Midsummer Solstice in County Galway, the Irish Autism Action Fund Racer at Mondello Park, plus lots more. Tune into Out and About in Ireland on Irish TV- Sky 191, Freesat 400 and online at www.irishtv.ie on Thursday, July 10 to watch the hour long programme.
