Soroptimists supporting the alzheimer society

The Soroptimist International Mullingar and District club presented a cheque for €10,610 on Friday 14 November to Gerry Martin, CEO, Alzheimer Society Ireland, for the Westmeath Alzheimer Day Care Service.

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is a charitable organisation, partially funded by HSE and, therefore, dependent on fundraising and donations to maintain services in each region.

Soroptimists give their time voluntarily to help improve the lives of others and their main project in 2013/14 was to create awareness and raise funds, and we are now delighted to contribute the sum of €10,610 towards the running costs of the Alzheimer Day Care service based at Riverside Community Centre, Dalton Park, Mullingar each Thursday.

The Soroptimists take this opportunity to acknowledge and say a huge thank you to our many supporters in raising these funds – Soroptimist families, friends, neighbours, donors, the public, sponsors and especially our main sponsors, Ben and Helen Dolan for funds from the Joe Dolan Summer show at the arts centre and Jim and Anne Buckley of Buckley’s SuperValu, Mullingar.

Soroptimists meet on the first Monday of the month at 8pm in the Bloomfield Hotel.
